the photography convention was absolutely incredible. i learned a host of information on technical AND practical topics, and overall feel more prepared to delve into the world of still imagery.
i don’t feel like making much of a post today, so i’m going to keep this pretty short.
i’m about to go drive around vegas and deliver newsletters. my room was so clean at the end of last week, but after cleaning out my car, the mess migrated, and now i have much more to do…
glowing lamps for sale on the side of the desert road. i want one.

to WPPI, the photographer’s expo here in vegas that starts tomorrow, and runs through next wednesday. i’m corresponding with a guy from craigslist who has an extra guest pass for not only the trade show (which is free with a promo code), but also many of the classes and workshops offered in the next several days. i’m hoping he comes through, and i can attend some of that awesomeness for free.
after i updated on monday, i hopped on adobe, and found that their production premium suite (as well as lightroom 3) are FIFTY PERCENT off until march second! $1700 to $850 is quite the price reduction, and considering i don’t have any of that software anymore, i’m making that purchase my priority after my student loan payment this month.
i’m working with the 30 day trials, which won’t expire before i have the full versions of CS5.5
let the creativity continue!!!

/on closer inspection, i’ve realized these are oranges.
whoops.
i’ve been trying to change the things in my life that i’ve wanted to change for a long time, or even just recently realized should be different.
so far, I…
-signed up with a stock photography website, and got my photos approved to be sold
-got my room put together somewhat; it’s not clean yet, but my things are set up so that i have a place to sleep, play, and work
-quit most of my time-wasting activities, including almost all video games. when i play now, it’s no longer an all day sesh
-have been attending the gym i’m a member at on a fairly regular basis, and my first personal training session is today at four
-have been going to the chiropractor once a week, which has vastly improved my posture, and made a popping, painful neck a thing of the past
-got hired as a photographer’s assistant, with an almost certain possibility of becoming a second shooter, and getting my own shoots as well
this week, i’ve decided i’m going to get hired at a day job, though i’m not sure where yet. i’m looking for something that will be stable enough to provide me with an opportunity to be responsible, and have a nice income.
as of now, i’m looking into being a waiter at a nice restaurant, or a valet at a hotel.
I’M COMPLETELY OPEN TO IDEAS! if you have any thoughts on this, please call or text me, and i will look into them.
until next time,
-Boden
while i’m still seeking full time work, gainful employment has been provided.
i went on appointments for my aunt’s graphic design company two days ago, and i was preparing to run errands yesterday when the print shop we use called me (the same one jake and i worked at a couple days after CES), and said they needed me to work.
i finished up a couple things, and went in. while folding and stapling an order, eddie began to teach me how to use the offset printer, which is a huge machine that prints multi-color jobs. they need me again today, and i’ll be going in soon. it’ll be fun to see what all this leads to; even if it’s not a career in printing or something, i love having the knowledge, regardless.
alright, time for my shower
i left the loft at 3:30 this morning, made it nearly to baker before requiring a sub-hour nap, then continued through to las vegas, arriving around 9:30. i immediately fell asleep, and got a good six hours of rest.
i want to thank everyone for being so supportive of my decision. i love you all, and am blessed that i get to call you my friends.
